1884年6月8日，戈勒列茲(Göllerich)才到威瑪不久，就給母親和姊姊寫信說：

在這兒每天都過得太快了。黃昏時我通常都與李斯特的門生待在一起。來自維也納的羅新陶(Rosenthal)、費列特漢(Friedheim)、(我來自佩斯)、有三位來自美國(紐約)的鋼琴家、兩位來自巴黎、波士頓一位、加州一位、一個羅馬尼亞人、三個俄國人，還有兩個英國人。簡直就是巴別塔。

Scarcely arrived in Weimar, [August] Göllerich wrote to his mother and sister on June 8, 1884:

Here every day is too short. In the evenings I am usually in the company of the Liszt school. From Vienna there are Rosenthal, Friedheim - (I from Pest), from America (New York) 3 pianists, 2 from Paris, 1 from Boston, 1 from California, 1 Rumanian, 3 Russians and 2 English. Quite a Tower of Babel.
